The Plot: Taken from Official BBC Website
"In the glowing red heart of the Australian outback, a man (Jamie Dornan) is pursued by vast tank truck trying to run him off the road.
Later, when he wakes up in hospital, hurt but somehow alive he realises he has no idea who he is.
Helen Chambers (Danielle Macdonald), a local rookie cop, is sent to check on The Man, and as there are no immediate clues as to his identity she promises to help him find the answers.
With merciless figures from his past pursuing him, The Man’s search for answers propels him through the vast and unforgiving outback. Idiosyncratic characters including Luci Miller (Shalom Brune-Franklin), a waitress in a sleepy one-horse town, are drawn to this curious new arrival.
When somebody from his past contacts him out of the blue, The Man must race to find them before it’s too late.
The Tourist also stars Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Damon Herriman, Alex Dimitriades, Kamil Ellis, Greg Larsen."
Created by Harry and Jack Williams whose previous credits include 'Liar' 'The Missing' and 'Baptiste', and are Managing Directors of Two Brothers Pictures, which has produced the project.
"The Tourist is a departure from anything we have written before. It isn't an easy show to categorise - so we won't"

Synopsis - Taken from BBC Media
"This drama tells the story of the four men killed by Stephen Port: Anthony Walgate, Gabriel Kovari, Daniel Whitworth and Jack Taylor, and their families and friends who worked tirelessly to find out what happened to them.
Stephen Port received a life sentence with a whole-life order in November 2016. An inquest into the four deaths concluded last week, with the jury ruling that failings by the Met Police contributed to the deaths of Port's final three victims.
Jeff Pope and Neil McKay previously worked together on The Moorside, which told the story of the community impacted by the disappearance of Shannon Matthews; and Appropriate Adult, which looked at the story of serial killer Fred West from the point of view of trainee social worker Janet Leach. They have a reputation for factual drama based on detailed research that focuses not on the crime itself, but those affected by the events, whose perspective gives a fresh eye on these important news stories."
Sheridan Smith stars as the first victims mother, and Stephen Marchant as the serial killer, Stephen Port.
The three part drama is being shown on consecutive nights.
